They also protect your items from accidental breakage or damage from pets or children. Display cabinets help keep your collection organized and easy to view. You can arrange your items in a visually appealing way, making it easier to find what you’re looking for and enjoy your collection. Glass display cabinets help preserve the condition of your collectables and memorabilia by keeping them in a controlled environment. This is especially important for items that are sensitive to light or temperature changes. These display cabinets have been designed to be an attractive addition to your home décor, adding character and style to your living room space. You can design your cabinet using our website tools to tailor the cabinet to your exact needs and display your beloved items in your home proudly, allowing you to share and detail the backgrounds of the items and share the sentimental, interesting, and educational stories.

The first thing for you to decide on your glass display case is the required size. (All of our measurements are in millimetres.)

We have a number of pre-configured sizes for you to choose from.

Width - (W) - Is how wide the unit is when viewed from the front.

Depth - (D) - Is how far the unit extends back when viewed from the side.

Height - (H) - Is the unit height when viewed from the front.

Glass Base

A glass base is traditionally used in a collectible display cases because it creates a clean, uninterrupted view of the items inside. Unlike solid bases, glass allows light to pass through the case, helping to illuminate models from multiple angles and making the display feel lighter and more open. The transparent base gives the appearance that models are almost "floating", creating a professional, museum-style display. However, we do also have sandblasting and painting available for the glass bases, should you prefer the base to be opaque and keep that seamless glass finish.

If you wish to proceed without a glass base, we have the following options available:

Customer to Silicone fit

Plain glass suitable for sealing down to your surface using a clear adhesive product or for locating into a prepared channel.

Clear VHB Tape

A clear High Bond Adhesive (VHB) tape is applied to the glass in our factory, suitable for securing the glass permanently and also isolating it from hard surfaces such as stone, stainless steel, etc.

Discreet Rubber Foot

A discreet rubber foot which is fitted to the glass in our factory using an adhesive plastic extrusion. Suitable where you need to be able to re-position the glass unit or remove it for deep cleaning. Also isolates the unit from hard surfaces such as stone and stainless steel.

Aluminium Channel

An anodised aluminium channel cut to size in our factory and supplied loose for you to fit to your countertop. Suitable where you need the glass unit to be permanently fixed. Also isolates the unit from hard surfaces such as stone and stainless steel.

Sliding glass doors are a practical addition when displaying valuable model trains and railway collectables, helping to keep your models protected from dust while allowing a clear viewing from all angles.

The doors glide smoothly for easy access whenever you want to adjust or reposition your models. They can also be lifted out of the cabinet for cleaning or if you'd prefer the display to be open for certain periods.

Each set of doors is fitted with a factory-bonded top channel and a bonded channel if you have a glass base. If you proceed with a different type of base, the bottom channel will be supplied with a high-bond tape so it can be easily secured to your countertop or base. The doors are supplied with discreet handles and edge buffers to ensure smooth and safe operation.

Full instructions for installing and using the doors can be found in our downloads section of this product page.

You can choose to add shelves to your unit, which will be permanently UV-bonded in at the time of manufacture.

Deep Shelves are 45mm shorter than the cabinet's depth as standard.

Shallow Shelves are half the internal depth of the cabinet.

Shelf Spacing - You can specify the height of the shelves you have.

The first shelf space will be the distance between the underside of the top panel and the top of the shelf.

The second shelf space will be the distance between the underside of the first shelf and the top of the second shelf, etc. Remember that each shelf takes up 10mm in height, and so does the top panel. So a 410 mm high counter with one shelf will have only 390mm of usable space inside. A central shelf would give you the following layout:

10mm thick top panel

195mm usable space

10mm thick shelf

195mm usable space

Our handy visual display shows what your display case will look like.

Enhance your model train display case with optional factory-installed LED lighting, designed to showcase your railway collectables clearly and professionally.

Choose from cool or warm white commercial-grade LED lighting, featuring a diffused light spread that evenly illuminates your models without harsh spots. This helps highlight the fine detailing, colours, and craftsmanship of your locomotives, rolling stock, and railway memorabilia.

The lighting is mounted with a slimline aluminium channel using discreet micro-tape LEDs, ensuring the installation remains subtle and unobtrusive when viewing your display cabinet.

Integrated lighting improves visibility inside the cabinet and reduces reflections from external light sources, allowing your model train collection to be seen clearly from every angle.

Our stock display cases are manufactured using 10mm thick glass, our bespoke pages allow different glass thickness should you need them. All of our glass is toughened so breakages are unlikely to occur.

All of our display cases are packaged suitably for their method of delivery. On our own vehicle, the glass has an anti-scratch protective film applied to all surfaces of the glass, and the edges are protected using impact-absorbing foam. If being delivered using a pallet courier, they are packaged the same way but are additionally protected with cardboard, then strapped to a wooden pallet. On some occasions, you may notice that the foam edge protection has been reused - this is to allow us to cut down on our environmental impact and in no way compromises the safety of the packaging.
