Glass Exhibit for Jewellery Design

The first thing for you to decide on for your custom jewellery exhibit is the required width. This can also be considered the length and refers to the size of the front ‘window’ of your custom display. All our measurements are taken in millimetres. Please note that if you specify a length greater than 1.8 metres (1800mm) a support rod will need to be installed in the centre of the unit to provide support.

Once you have specified the width, we then ask you to input the desired depth of your glass jewellery exhibit, the depth refers to how far back or forward the display will sit, please consider the size of your jewellery pieces or how much you'd like to put in each exhibit when deciding this. Once these are selected you will have the height to input next, you will need to consider where the glass exhibit will be located. For example, if this is a wall fixture strictly for displaying the jewellery this won’t be so worrying. Whereas a display that will be used frequently and will have exchanges made above it will need some thought of practicality. If you would like any advice on your dimensions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Once you have provided us with the basic dimensions of your custom glass exhibit you can then select some personalisation options for your display!

More Detail

You can choose whether or not you require polished edges for your exhibit. Edge polishing is a process whereby the exposed edges of your glass sneeze guards are polished to remove their sharpness.

We offer 3 different options of protective feet and installation options for your glass jewellery exhibit. There are different options that are suitable for different situations, so it is entirely up to you how you'd like it to fit into place.

The first option is an aluminium channel, this channel will be fitted into the worktop that you are using for your jewellery exhibit, which means the worktop will need to be drilled and then have the channel installed. Once installed the jewellery exhibit will slot into the channel, making it easy to remove for cleaning and combining security as a permanent fixture.

The second option for your glass jewellery exhibit is a discrete rubber strip foot, this rubber strip will be fixed to the base of your display, and this will cause friction between the glass and the worktop. The friction and the weight of the glass will secure the unit from being accidentally knocked; this will also allow the exhibit to be repositioned.

The third and final option is to have the exhibit silicon fixed to the worktop, this process has the same type of security as the aluminium channel, however, will not allow the display to be removed for cleaning etc or any movement.

Please note, Futureglass will not as a standard carry out the installation work. If you require installation, please contact us directly then we can see if this is possible. If it is possible, we will arrange a quote for installation as this is a separate service we offer if we are able to.

Once you have selected the installation method of your glass exhibit, we then ask you to specify the glass thickness you require. For most applications, 10mm glass will be suitable however if the damage is a concern, we do offer thicker glass.

This section at times can be a little daunting, a lot of people wouldn't know the difference between the glass types. Allow us to explain so that you are well-informed before making the best choice for your glass jewellery exhibit. There is one feature of glass that you won’t have to worry about which is that all our glass is safety toughened glass, which means breakages are unlikely to occur and if they were the glass will break safely into small pieces instead of glass shards. The difference with glass types is largely cosmetic. Clear toughened glass has a faint green tint, this is not insanely noticeable unless you are having the glass back painted. in this case, the green tint will slightly alter the colour once applied to the glass unless it is a dark colour for example, black or a dark shade of grey etc. Low Iron toughened glass is specially formulated to remove the green tint which allows for a truer colour. We would suggest using low iron glass for displays like jewellery because of the colours and details that are involved, which will give a bigger impression to the consumer, ultimately improving the display.

**Full-depth shelves are the glass thickness of the front panel minus 35mm shallower than the cabinet’s overall depth to allow for sliding doors to be retrospectively fitted in the future.

We find that customers will often wish to include a shelf in their jewellery exhibit, shelves can be used to enhance the use of the display. This is done by using different levels and adding more space for additional jewellery instead of having all of it based in one area.

We offer the ability to decide not only the number of shelves you require but also the depth of these shelves, choosing from half-depth and full-depth. By default, we will divide the sections of your glass exhibit equally. If you would like to specify custom shelf spacing for your glass exhibit, then please indicate this to us using the special instructions section.

The special instructions section allows you to include any requests or information you feel is relevant. Please note that while we will always do our best to accommodate your requests this will not always be possible. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Once you have designed your perfect custom glass exhibit, the page will automatically display the price of your unit.
